Madigan made... a great discovery.
I read about it everywhere.
And I used to ask myself, "Really, what is the big deal about ORB spray paint?" (oil rubbed bronze, for those of you possibly clueless, like I was.)
I could always count on my black and white spray paint. I had no reason to experiment.
Well, now I know! Geez, what a pretty brown-black sheen!
I've been working bit by bit to finish our basement family room. I'm attempting a subtle sports theme. (Though I wonder if a theme room can ever be 'subtle'??)
I already finished my sports subway art. I needed a few accessories. Mr. Madigan had an old baseball trophy we were going throw out. Thank goodness I grabbed it out of the donation pile!
I have to admit, as sports trophies go, this one was rather attractive. The shape and style was unfussy and the gold did not glare at you. But it still needed a color change.
I almost bought my tried and true black, but the ORB can was winking at me in the store.
I'm so glad I used it! I pried off the name plate and primed and painted him. He looked like a cast iron or bronze statue.
I'm not sure where to place him yet. For now, he sits here in our family room next to some old keys I recently picked up at a flea market.
A little late to the game, but I'm on the ORB bandwagon.
{ However, because of Roo over at Nice Girl Notes (one of my new fav reads) I am reconsidering silver finishes, too. (I love anything mercury glass!) Like I need another reason for spray paint? }
