Fall has {finally} arrived 'round here.

Madigan made... simple seasonal changes.

I finally got around to pulling out some fall decor for the house.

I love fall. It is by far my favorite season.
The weather, the clothes, the scents, the food, the colors. Everything.

Here is my philosophy with holiday decor: keep it simple.

Why?
      A. I like simple.
      B. I'm a little lazy. (setting things out to only have to put them away in a month or so is kinda frustrating. Pretty, but frustrating.)

My simple seasonal steps include:
1. Hanging a wreath.
Wreaths set the tone before you even walk into a home. I did not make this wreath (I wish!). Isn't it gorgeous? A family member gave it to me for a bridal shower gift. (Side note: isn't that a lovely idea for a shower gift?) I think she bought it at Home Goods.

2. A simple centerpiece.
Normally, I just have a pretty fruit bowl in the center of the table. I like to put centerpieces on a tray, so it is easy to move the display for dinnertime.
And I love how my quote of the month on my chalkboard fits in with this post topic. No, I did not plan it! Total coinkydink.

3. Change out the filler in my apothecary jars.
The seashells gave way to pretty shades of red fruit and dried flowers. Apothecary jars are an easy way to decorate for the season. Just change the contents for the holidays. If you do not own any, you can find them very reasonably priced at stores like TJ Maxx or Home Goods.
4. Make a welcoming entryway.
A couple weaved pumpkins and fall accents are all our little foyer table needs.

5. Set out a few accessories.
On a normal day, I try keep the knick knacks to a minimum in our house. (clutter is a 'four letter word' around here) Even during the holidays, I avoid setting out too much stuff. Just a few simple items are all I need to feel like the seasons are changing.

That's about all I set out so far for autumn. It's a little late, apparently, by blogland standards. I think I already missed some of the great "fall" themed link parties. I will need to remember this fact next year.

I have a few fun Halloween items that I will display eventually. But not until October is closer.
