November: New month, new chalkboard quote

Madigan made... a new chalkboard quote and a plate switch-er-roo.

Happy November! Time for me to change out the chalkboard quote again. (If you are new here, welcome! I post a new quote every month on my chalkboard.)

Sigh.
It was sad to take down the skull plates and the black/white pumpkin centerpiece. That was a really fun display.

But this month, before Christmas season starts, I felt it was time for something a little quieter.

More thoughtful (and thankful).

I made an attempt to draw a picture. Can you guess what they are?

Wheat? Did ya get that?

See my inspiration:

You can kinda see the resemblance, right?

Any other time of year, I would pass by these wheat plates. But when I saw these two plates at a thrift store a few weeks ago, I thought "harvest" not "1960's orange and brown."

And, I kept four of the DIY painted creamware plates up. And added some new cream plates. At the same thrift store I saw the wheat plates, I found a bunch of ironstone, including these 4 plates (for 25 cents a piece!!). Ever since I read the post on ironstone over at Mustard Seed Creations, I am trying to keep my eyes peeled for pieces. I love cream pottery, remember? (Miss Mustard Seed's post is very informative. A recommended read if you are interested in ironstone.)
These are a little chipped and discolored. But I think they are perfect for decoration, like this display.

I packed away all the Halloween decor last night. All that is left is my simple fall decorations.

I've yet to start any Christmas shopping or even think much about the holidays. They are fast approaching!

So I'm thankful for a little breathing room. Time to pause, give thanks, and eat a little turkey with family and friends.

Have a wonderful month.
