Madigan made... a {half} year's worth of chalkboard changes.
No new project today, but I wanted to share with you my top favorite project of twenty-ten.
(do you say twenty-ten or two thousand ten?)
My regular readers will recognize this project, as it is a recurring theme here. For those of you new to this blog, I change my chalkboard quote out once a month.
The BIG chalkboard is by far one of my favorite projects from the past year. I'm so glad I made it!
This little corner of our kitchen never changed much. Now, I really enjoy changing out the quote and decorations each month.
Shall we go on a monthly tour and review the past 7 months of quotes? I'm in the mood...
Click on the month to go to that related post for the details. Just ignore the sloppy and crooked penmanship in chalk. ;)
So, the project began in June when I made this chalkboard from an oversized and ugly frame. For details about how I made the chalkboard, please read that post.
And then in July, a little lightbulb went off in my head and I decided to change the quote around every month and share it with you.
I knew the wall needed something else, so in August I made my own painted creamware plates to hang on the wall. I just hung them with picture hanging strips so I could change out the plates for the holidays.
In September, I kept the quote simple, along with a simple fall centerpiece on the kitchen table.
I changed the plates around on the wall and added a spooky fall centerpiece for October.
November called for something quiet and about giving thanks. I mixed in two wheat-rimmed plates and attempted to sketch wheat on the chalkboard, too. (You could tell that the chicken scratch at the bottom was wheat, right?)
For December and the holidays I added festive black, red and white plates and a simple berry centerpiece.
And this weekend marks another month, so stay tuned . . .
(Any suggestions for a quote? I'm still scouting out a good one.)
And looking at all these photos, one other random lesson to learn: Do NOT pick a paint color based on pictures you see on the internet!! Look at all the different shades of yellow you see above! Depending on the time of day and where I had my white balance set.... there is anything from warm tan to a more mustard yellow. (I had a few of you email me and I think the color is actually Camel from Behr.)
Since this chalkboard (and all its changes) is one of my fav projects, I will be adding it to the CSI Project's Favorite Projects Link party.

P.S. I also plan to link another project to the CSI project. It was my other favorite post from this year: our sports ticket art. (It is an art project that is so personal and cool. It is hubby's favorite, so I thought it would be appropriate to share.)
