My ode to white paint

Madigan made... an ode to white paint.

All of these words come to mind when I think of the color white.

Is it any wonder why we like to decorate with white?

And let's face it, if you read or watch about home decor topics, you know that white is a hot trend.

When I heard that The CSI Project's theme of the week was white, I got excited and wanted to tell you about it.
I've wanted to write and "Ode to White Paint" post... and this seemed like the perfect time to do it.

Now, I have to confess that my favorite color... still... is black. (And yes, I consider it a color!) There is a ton of black in my wardrobe and black is a great neutral to have in any room. It is chic and classic. It never goes out of style.

But lately, white is coming in as a close second for my favorite color. It is clean, modern and yet classic.

If you read this blog, you know that I painted a BUNCH of stuff white in the past year.
I am really digging the power of simple modern white objects. I find these items look fresh and clean in my yellow kitchen.

In fact, when I looked back... ALL of these projects are ALL in my kitchen.

So, for my submission to the link party this week, I thought I'd share all the white paint projects that occurred in my kitchen. (click on the bolded text to be taken to the post about that project)

First, let's start with the kitchen itself! Back in 2009 I painted our oak cabinets white. It completely changed the atmosphere of the room. Best. decorating. decision. ever.

I told you about my love of creamy white pottery that I started to collect... and display in the kitchen.

I could not find enough white plates to hang next to my big white chalkboard, so I made my own creamware by painting plates white with enamel paint.
