Madigan made... a confession about vases.
You heard it here first: The glass apothecary jar trend is over.
Ok, maybe not everywhere. The trend is just over in our house.
Now, I'm not saying there is any wrong with apothecary jars.
(Did ya catch the subtle Seinfeld reference?)
In fact, if you look on other blogs (and Pottery Barn) everyone seems to have an apothecary jar or two. People are even trying to knock them off.
And admittedly, I found them an easy and simple way to decorate. I could change the filler out for every season.
For summer:

For fall:
For Halloween:
For Christmas:
I loved that I could update my decor for the season without drastically changing my rooms around.
But... you still have to store all that vase filler.
And even with the vase filler, the jars still did not seem to have much 'impact'.
They kinda got lost on top of our china-cabinet-posing-as-a-library-cabinet.
I told you already that I was less than excited about my Halloween apothecary decor. Fillling the vases with ornaments was pretty. I was about to pull out my 'winter' filler (ie. pine cones) and I was just kinda tired of the change... again. Even a little bored.
Don't worry, I'll probably still use vase filler for a few bowls and containers for seasonal decor.
But... I'm ready to move on from these apothecary jars. I no longer plan to use vase filler to fill them.
The jars will not be gone entirely.
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you may be able to guess what I did with them.
Any guesses? Think you know what I did with these apothecary vases?
Stay tuned for tomorrow to find out!
