Madigan made... a look back on our foyer.
Next week, I plan to show you our finished foyer area. I'm so excited to show it to you. The colors involved in the space are reds, blacks, and metallics.
I shared with you the two globes that I'm going to use in the decor: my thumbtack globe and the glue gun "subway art" globe. But there is sooo much more. Just wait!
But I wanted to take one last look at what the foyer used to look like...
(And yes, this is what many call a 'teaser' post. You will just have to wait till next week to see the new space. Don't get too excited, ok?)
The plain everyday foyer with my DIY art:
Our simple fall decor:
The Christmastime sparkle:
The vintage Valentine's Day 'cupcake' display:
Sweet elegance in the spring:
The table was very traditional, and almost too formal for our style, but it worked. Because the finish was so pretty, we always hesitated to put anything (like our keys or a drink) on the surface.
Since this space greets you at the front door, we needed a more practical piece of furniture. One where we could set things and sit down. (Those of you that guessed are correct: it is a bench!)
The new foyer space is very different and a bit of a departure from what I normally do: simple.
Hint: rhymes with "Mallory Small"
It still is very 'me' and I love it... well, you'll see!
And the old foyer table found a new home. I'll show you where at some point! (Gosh, I am a tease!)
P.S. Are any of you participating in the I Love Thrifting event this weekend? I decided last minute this week to join a group here outside of Philadelphia (with Diane from In My Own Style). Get out there and discover a great thrifty find this weekend!
