Madigan made... A simple idea for elegant autumn vase filler.
Did you start to decorate for fall and Halloween yet? Well, I admit that I’ve dragged my feet a little. I’ve made a few fall crafts, but I finally set out some décor for the season this past weekend. I wanted to show you this simple fall tablescape today.
I recently found this pedestal hurricane vase at an antique store with my mom last month. I thought it would be pretty to fill and use for seasonal decorating. At first, I just stuck one of my scented fall candles in it. Then, when I was pulling out my fall decor, I set the brass thumbtack pumpkins next to the vase. It looked OK, but I felt the vessel needed something else.
So, I grabbed some leftover thumbtacks and experimented a little. Yep, they fit perfectly in the space between the candle and the glass! I ran out to the dollar store and bought more thumbtacks.
It took about 7-8 boxes of thumb tacks to fill in and around the candle. (That’s a lot of thumbtacks!)
This arrangement of gilded fall objects looks so pretty on a table under my layered DIY sunburst mirror. I love how from a distance, you aren't really sure what is in the vase. You just see the golden sparkle.
These twinkling thumb tacks will easily transition into my Christmas décor. I also think this golden vase filler would be a unique and elegant idea for a wedding centerpiece, too.

I hope to show you more of my fall decorating soon.
How about you… Have you started to decorate for season yet? I hope I’m not the only one finally getting around to it!
