Adding Color to Your Décor with Lamps

Madigan made…  decorating inspiration with colorful lamps.

I love lamp.

(Name that movie and you get a virtual gold star!)

When we moved into our home, we upgraded all of our lighting fixtures from the ‘builder basic’. And I’ve shared with you several lamp décor projects around our home (like our master bedroom lamps and my wine cork lamp). I find that customized lighting choices are important to a room’s décor. Lighting helps set the mood for a room. And your lamps can add personality and color to the space.

So, I was excited to hear about the new Color + Plus glass lamp collection from Lamps Plus. You can select a beautiful hand-crafted glass lamp in a color that is customized to your décor. You can even pick a matching drum shade, too.

Check out all of these gorgeous colors and shades!

Pantone matched lamps and shades

I’ve told you before about two spaces that I’m attempting to redecorate… our drab hunter green family room and the office-bedroom upstairs.

My inspiration for both rooms stem from different patterns and fabric. With all of the color choices in the Color + Plus glass lamp collection it would be so easy to find a lamp that matched my inspiration perfectly.

Remember the CMYK plaid fabric that I hope to use in our family room? (It inspired plaid coasters, remember?) This pattern could be a fun jumping off point. Maybe I need a custom turquoise lamp to match?

Or maybe for the office-bedroom, I can pull out a pretty shade of green from my orange-green-blue inspiration paper. And the lamp would be on trend with Pantone’s Color of the Year: Emerald, natch!

I love that lamps are an easy way to experiment with color without changing something permanent like a large piece of furniture or a painted wall.

How about you… Do you use your lighting to add a little extra color to your rooms?
